In 2013, we introduced a new animal-assisted therapy, given the success and benefits these therapies provide. Canine-Assisted Therapy (TAP) involves incorporating specially selected and trained dogs into existing therapeutic or educational processes as a complement.
During therapy sessions with dogs, a stimulus is created, and a motivation is generated for participants to voluntarily engage in a specific activity in partnership with the animal. This stimulus is effective because it is presented periodically, typically once a week, which prevents habituation to the stimulus and ensures that it maintains its motivating effect.
